Why Clickport exists
Hi, I'm David. I've been a developer for over 20 years. I've built content sites, affiliate projects, and client work across every stack imaginable. Through all of it, I wanted to understand what visitors actually did. Not just pageviews and bounce rates, but real behavior: how far they scrolled, what they clicked, whether the content was working.
I used Google Analytics like everyone else. It was fine for years. Then GA4 came along, and the tool I relied on became something I couldn't recommend to my own clients. Cookie banners, consent flows, data sent to US servers, and a dashboard that needed a certification to understand.
So I looked at the alternatives. The privacy-friendly ones were simple and clean but too shallow. They could tell me how many visitors I had, but not what those visitors did.
I wanted both: privacy that's built into the architecture, and analytics deep enough to actually make decisions with. Engagement scores, scroll tracking, session timelines, goal attribution, copy detection. The things that tell you whether your content is working, not just whether someone showed up.
So I built it.
Who's behind this
David Karpik
Founder, developer, designer
Developer, marketer, and information designer based in Braunschweig, Germany. I write the code, design the dashboard, handle support, and write the blog posts. Every feature in Clickport exists because I needed it myself or a user asked for it.
I build Clickport full-time. There's no team of 50, no board of directors, no investor deck. When you email support, you're talking to the person who wrote the code. When something breaks, I fix it the same day. When you request a feature, I'm the one deciding whether to build it.
Principles
Privacy is architecture, not a setting. Clickport doesn't collect personal data, doesn't set cookies, and doesn't store IP addresses. There's no privacy toggle because there's nothing to toggle. It's built this way from the ground up.
Your visitors came for your content, not to be profiled. They deserve to browse without being tracked across the web. You deserve to know what's working on your site. Both things can be true at the same time.
Customer-funded means customer-aligned. Clickport is funded entirely by subscriptions. No investors, no ad revenue, no data sales. The only people I answer to are the people who pay for the product.
Simple doesn't mean shallow. A clean dashboard and deep analytics aren't mutually exclusive. Clickport gives you engagement scores, goal tracking, session timelines, scroll depth, and copy detection. All on one page, no training required.
Boundaries
No cookies. Not "optional cookies" or "strictly necessary cookies." Zero.
No personal data collection. No names, emails, or browser fingerprints. IP addresses are hashed with a daily rotating salt, then discarded. Details in the privacy policy.
No data shared with third parties. Your analytics data stays on our server in Germany. No sub-processors ever touch it.
No consent banners needed. Because Clickport doesn't track personal data, the ePrivacy Directive doesn't require consent. Full GDPR compliance details. Your visitors see your site, not a wall of checkboxes.
No investors, no board, no exit strategy. Clickport is built to last, not to flip. There's no one pressuring me to raise prices, cut corners, or monetize your data.
Made and hosted in Germany
Clickport is built in Braunschweig, Germany. Your analytics data is stored on a Hetzner server in Germany. It never leaves the EU. No Schrems II concerns, no US data transfers, no CLOUD Act exposure.
European-owned infrastructure exclusively for visitor data. The only sub-processors that touch customer data (not visitor data) are Resend for transactional emails and Paddle for payments. Full details in the Data Processing Agreement.
