Teams and people
The People section in Settings is where you share your analytics with the humans who need it: teammates with a role across all your sites, or guests who see exactly one site. Adding someone takes one email address, and their access is active the moment you click Add. There is nothing for them to accept.
How adding someone works
Type an email address, pick a role, click Add. What happens next depends on whether that address already uses Clickport:
- They already have a Clickport account: your sites simply appear in their account, next to anything of their own. They get one notification email so it is not a surprise. No signup, no acceptance step.
- They are new to Clickport: we create their account for them and send one email. The link in it opens a single screen where they set a password, and they land straight in your dashboard, already signed in. Until then they show an awaiting sign-in badge, and you can resend the link anytime. Sign-in links expire after 7 days.
Adding people is part of every paid plan. Trial accounts see the People section but cannot add anyone yet.
Roles
A role applies to all of the team's sites. From most to least access:
- Owner can do everything: manage people, sites, API keys, share links, billing, and delete sites. Every team always has at least one owner.
- Admin manages people, site settings, API keys, and share links. Admins cannot delete sites, touch billing, or change owners.
- Editor edits site settings, goals, funnels, segments, and annotations. No people management, no API keys.
- Viewer sees every dashboard and can export data, read-only.
Owners can promote anyone, including to owner, which is how you transfer ownership. Clickport refuses to demote or remove the last owner of a team, so a team can never end up ownerless.
Guests: one site, optionally one slice of it
Guests are for clients and outside collaborators. A guest gets access to exactly one site and never sees the rest of your team:
- Guest editor sees the dashboard and can manage that site's settings and goals.
- Guest viewer sees the dashboard, read-only. A guest viewer can additionally be limited to a saved segment, so a client sees only their own campaign's traffic on your real dashboard. They can add filters on top, but never remove yours.
For read-only access without any account at all, a share link is the even lighter option.
The team activity trail
Every change on the team is recorded: who added or removed someone, who changed a role, who edited goals or site settings, who exported data. The Activity tab on the team card shows it all, newest first, with the person's name on every entry. Owners and admins can see it; nobody can edit it. Personal security events like logins, and IP addresses, stay private to each member's own activity log.
Removing someone
Remove a member or guest from the People section and their access ends with their very next click. If they never signed in at all, the account Clickport created for them is deleted entirely, so a mistyped email leaves nothing behind.
