Weekend shading
Weekend shading tints Saturdays and Sundays on the main visitor chart with a barely-there band. Most sites breathe in a weekly rhythm, and the shading answers "why does traffic dip every seventh bucket" before anyone has to hover a date.
It is off by default. Turn it on from Dashboard preferences, in the Weekend shading row.

What it looks like
Two weeks of visitors, weekends shaded
Consecutive weekend days merge into one seamless band. The tint sits behind the data and never changes the numbers.

Where it appears
The shading shows on views where individual days are visible:
- Daily charts: 7, 14, 28, 30, 91 days, month views, and any custom range drawn day by day.
- Hourly multi-day charts: the hours belonging to a weekend day shade as one continuous band.
It stays off where it would say nothing: weekly and monthly buckets span both kinds of day, and single-day views (Today, Yesterday, 24 hours, realtime) have no weekly rhythm to mark.
Purely visual. Shading changes no numbers and hides nothing. It works in both themes, with every dashboard color palette, and alongside comparisons, annotations, and drag to zoom. The setting is per device.
Where to find it
Sign in, click your avatar in the top-right, then Settings. In the sidebar, choose Dashboard. Weekend shading sits right below Graph lines.
